It was a great start to a week of sharing the Gospel of grace to young and old alike.  As children arrived we threw frisbees and practiced with hula-hoops.  Today’s theme was Jonah and the whale. The kids got a Jonah storybook. Following the music time with youth and the children, the youth presented the skit on Jonah and the whale, starring Luke Adkins as Jonah!  Games this morning featured water.  We tossed water balloons and had a water balloon relay.  Everybody had a ball–oon!

Following games it was craft time!  Flower pot whales!

The 2009 Eldad Baptist Youth Mission trip is now underway.  Members gave a big send-off with a fellowship meal and a prayer circle asking Christ to anoint the work of the ministry.  We will be updating details each day so check in for the latest news.  For more photos click here.  More photos will be added every day!!

The mission team, consisting of eight youth and eight adults, will be working the entire week at the KOA campgrounds in Townsend, TN.  We are working in conjuction with Charm Ministries.

A typical day during this week will involve “Day Camps” for the children which involve games, skits, crafts and music!  Each night we have a family night.  Here is the break down of activities during family night:

Monday Night – Decade Night

Tuesday Night – Luau Night

Wednesday Night – Western Night

Thursday Night – A Night at the Opry

Friday Night – Family Feud Night

From Trenton, take Hwy 186 toward Gibson for about 4 miles.  Turn right on Eldad Rd. 

From Humboldt, go north on Hwy 45W.  Turn right on Fruitland-Eldad Rd. 

Travel to Eldad Rd, turn left. Go about 1.5 miles.
